Camden Removals Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement is made by Camden Removals in respect of the financial year ending 31 December and sets out the steps we take to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our business operations and supply chains. Camden Removals provides removal, storage and associated services, and we recognise our responsibility to respect and promote human rights in every aspect of our work.
Our Zero-Tolerance Policy
Camden Removals has a zero-tolerance approach to all forms of modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour and child labour. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all business dealings and relationships. We expect the same high standards from all our suppliers, subcontractors and other business partners, and we are committed to enforcing these standards consistently.
Modern slavery is a crime and a gross violation of fundamental human rights. We will not knowingly do business with any organisation or individual involved in or associated with modern slavery or human trafficking. Where concerns are identified, we will take prompt and decisive action, which may include suspension or termination of contracts and, where appropriate, reporting to the relevant authorities.
Our Supply Chain and Risk Areas
Our supply chain includes providers of vehicles, fuel, packaging materials, storage facilities, cleaning services, maintenance services, recruitment and temporary labour, and various professional and support services. While we consider the overall risk of modern slavery within our direct operations to be relatively low, we acknowledge that risks can exist at any point in the supply chain, particularly where labour is engaged indirectly or where products and services originate from higher-risk sectors or regions.
We aim to identify and assess areas of potential vulnerability and to apply proportionate controls to reduce the risk of modern slavery occurring within our sphere of influence.
Supplier Audits and Due Diligence
Camden Removals is developing and implementing a structured due diligence process for new and existing suppliers. This includes assessing suppliers against our ethical standards and modern slavery expectations. Where appropriate, we request information about their own policies, training and controls relating to human rights and labour practices.
We reserve the right to conduct supplier audits, which may include site visits, document reviews and discussions with management. These audits are designed to verify compliance with contractual requirements, including modern slavery obligations. If a supplier is found to be in breach, we will work with them to address and remediate the issue within a defined timeframe. Failure to demonstrate improvement or cooperation may result in the termination of the business relationship.
Training and Awareness
We are committed to raising awareness of modern slavery among our employees, particularly those involved in procurement, recruitment and supplier management. Training and guidance are provided so that staff can recognise potential indicators of exploitation and understand how to respond appropriately.
We seek to embed respect for human rights and ethical conduct into our culture by incorporating these principles into our policies, procedures and day-to-day decision-making.
Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing
Camden Removals encourages all employees, contractors, suppliers and other stakeholders to speak up if they have any concerns about potential modern slavery or human trafficking in our business or supply chain. Concerns can be raised through internal reporting channels, including line managers, senior management or other designated contacts within the business.
We are committed to ensuring that individuals who report concerns in good faith do so without fear of retaliation. All reports will be treated seriously, handled sensitively and, where possible, confidentially. We will investigate any allegations thoroughly and take appropriate action, which may include cooperating with law enforcement and regulatory bodies.
Continuous Improvement and Annual Review
We recognise that tackling modern slavery is an ongoing process that requires continuous improvement. Camden Removals is committed to regularly reviewing and strengthening our policies, risk assessments, due diligence procedures and training to ensure they remain effective and proportionate.
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement will be reviewed, updated and approved by the Camden Removals leadership team on an annual basis, or more frequently if required by changes in legislation or our business activities. We will report on progress and key actions taken each year as part of this review, with the aim of continually enhancing our approach to preventing modern slavery and safeguarding the rights and dignity of all people connected to our operations and supply chains.
